It's a distressing fact that many people are overweight. I am aware, because for a long time I was one of them. Being 5'6" and pretty much 200 pounds is not a great look. The nickname of mine among the friends of mine was "Wombat". For individuals who are not Australian (not all individuals may be so lucky!), a wombat is like a groundhog or a badger. Fat, round, slow moving and bad tempered. To be truthful, it was not the nickname I would have chosen for myself. I constantly liked Leopard. Or Dragon. But I have Wombat.
It wasn't as if I did not try to drop some weight. In fact at times I did. A bit. For some time. Although not enough so someone noticed. One hundred as well as eighty 7 lbs doesn't look a lot different to one 100 as well as 90 2 pounds. The Wombat lived.
I tried all sorts of diets & restricted eating regimes. The Atkins diet plan. The Pritikin diet plan. High protein diets. (Made me feel ill all of the time). Low carbohydrate diets. (Made me really fatigued I did not wish to do anything but lie in existence and watch television). Fruit diet programs! They really got everything going through my body but unfortunately didn't make me lose excess weight. Vegetarian diets. Several of these diet programs helped for a while. I lost a number of pounds but eventually got bored of the sameness of the meals and fast put back on whatever I had extremely hard earned lost.
In addition, I was hungry at all times.
Lastly, I realized I can potentially remain on the couch and realize nothing until I died, or, I could very well lose weight and rejoin the human race. I checked on the web to find a system of shedding weight that would fit me. I bought a great deal of products that promised me losing weight to create a supermodel envious. I tried. I really did. The only thing to shed pounds was the wallet of mine. I began to despair which I was destined to be Wombat all my life.
